Life and business are a lot like motorcycles—every turn, every decision, and every adjustment changes the ride. A motorcycle’s sprocket determines its performance. A larger one delivers more torque and acceleration but sacrifices top speed. A smaller one does the opposite. The right setup depends on the kind of ride you want.
The same is true in life. Your “sprocket” is the experience, knowledge, and skills you collect along the way.
The more teeth on your sprocket, the better equipped you are to handle whatever the road throws at you. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my journey, it’s this—adaptation wins races.
My career started in the automotive world, running high-line dealerships like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, and Jaguar.
I later ran 5 multi-line motorcycle dealerships, including iconic brands like Harley-Davidson and Triumph as the variable ops director for John Elway Powersports.
Leading his dealerships was a career highlight, but the best part wasn’t the perks. It was being surrounded by top-tier operators, business leaders, and entrepreneurs—learning from the best and applying that knowledge to every aspect of my work.
I’ve been up and down, rich and bankrupt, on top of the world and knocked to the ground . My friends used to joke, “You could fall into a gutter and come out wearing a three-piece suit.” They weren’t wrong.
What makes me successful isn’t luck—it’s my ability to adapt and overcome.
